Cocamine oxide is an outstanding foam booster in formulations, offering excellent foam stability and viscosity enhancement. Because of its stable foaming performance across all pH levels, cocamine oxide is often the preferred foaming agent for formulations with very high or very low pH values. It is especially effective in formulations with high electrolyte content. At neutral pH, it behaves as a nonionic ingredient, which means it can usually mix well with nonionic, anionic, and cationic surfactants. However, the presence of other ingredients in a formulation can affect its compatibility.
Due to its excellent foaming and strong cleaning properties, cocamine oxide is commonly used in products such as bubble baths, shower gels, shampoos, and hand cleansers where high foaming performance is desired. It not only enhances the volume and stability of foam but also improves its structure, creating a rich, creamy lather with fine bubbles.
