Emulsifying wax CC is a high-performance, nonionic emulsifier crafted from cetearyl alcohol (C16–C18) and its ethoxylated form, ceteareth-20. Designed for modern skincare and personal care formulations, it delivers reliable oil-in-water emulsification while also enhancing formulation viscosity through the presence of cetearyl alcohol. Its nonionic nature, lacking functional groups prone to hydrolysis, ensures excellent stability across a broad pH range, making it especially suitable for low-pH products containing active ingredients such as salicylic acid. It is ideally suited for formulating cosmetic and pharmaceutical products with a smooth, high-quality appearance, and offers excellent compatibility with a wide range of active ingredients, including anionic, cationic, and amphoteric surfactants, as well as acids, bases, and electrolytes.
This multifunctional ingredient acts as both a primary and secondary emulsifier, delivering excellent formulation stability and a smooth, elegant texture across a wide range of topical products, including creams, lotions, emulsions, and suspensions. Finished products formulated with it, such as creams and lotions, exhibit a white, glossy appearance and, most importantly, spread easily on the skin for a smooth and effortless application.
Emulsifying wax CC is best added to the oil phase during formulation. Its excellent heat stability supports reliable processing, with optimal results achieved when the oil phase is maintained between 70–80 °C for smooth, consistent emulsions.
