Glycereth-2 cocoate is an ester derived from coconut fatty acids and ethoxylated glycerin, averaging two ethylene oxide units. The material is easy to handle, it disperses readily into other surfactant systems at room temperature and is specifically formulated for use in ultra-mild skin care products. Its non-ionic nature ensures compatibility with anionic, amphoteric, cationic, and other non-ionic surfactants. The material remains unaffected by hard water and exhibits stability in aqueous solutions within a pH range of 4 to 8.

Glycereth-2 cocoate functions as:

• A thickener when combined with anionic surfactants, offering an effective alternative to nitrogen-based thickeners like cocamide DEA.

• An emulsifier that promotes stable blends of otherwise immiscible liquids (such as water and oil) by reducing interfacial tension.
